Morocco’s Billionaires in 2025: Who Tops the Forbes List?
...
The July 2025 update of Forbes magazine’s “Richest in Morocco” list is out and the rankings show remarkable stability compared to last year. The country’s wealthiest figures have largely held onto their fortunes and their positions, continuing to shape Morocco’s economic landscape.

1. Othman Benjelloun – $1.6 Billion
At 92 years old, Othman Benjelloun remains Morocco’s wealthiest individual. As chairman of Bank of Africa, which operates across 20 African countries, Benjelloun has built an empire that spans finance, insurance, and telecom. Through his holding company FinanceCom, he also holds stakes in major international players like Orange Morocco. His long-standing presence at the top reflects both resilience and diversified investments.

2. Anas Sefrioui – $1.6 Billion
Real estate tycoon Anas Sefrioui, founder of Douja Promo Groupe Addoha, retains the second spot with a fortune equal to Benjelloun’s. His success is tied closely to large-scale, government-backed affordable housing projects, which have positioned him as a central figure in Morocco’s property market for decades.

3. Aziz Akhannouch – $1.5 Billion
In third place is a name that blends politics with business: Aziz Akhannouch, Morocco’s current Head of Government. His wealth comes from a majority stake in Akwa Group, a family-founded conglomerate dating back to 1932. Akwa Group’s reach extends into energy, gas, and chemicals through well-known publicly traded companies like Afriquia Gas and Maghreb Oxygène.
