Morocco’s Tourism Boom: $6.7 Billion in Revenue for 2025

Morocco’s tourism industry is thriving, with travel receipts soaring to MAD 67 billion ($6.7 billion) in the first seven months of 2025. According to the Ministry of Tourism, this marks a robust 13% increase compared to the same period in 2024, showcasing the country’s growing appeal as a global destination.
From January to July, Morocco welcomed 11.6 million visitors, a 16% jump from last year’s figures. This surge added an extra MAD 7.5 billion ($750 million) to the economy, highlighting the sector’s vital role in driving growth.
July was a standout month, with tourism revenues hitting MAD 13 billion ($1.3 billion)—a remarkable 26% increase from July 2024. The month saw 2.7 million travelers, including 1.8 million Moroccans living abroad, flocking to the country’s vibrant cities and cultural landmarks.
Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor emphasized the sector’s economic significance, stating, “The steady rise in tourist arrivals and investments in unique tourism experiences solidify Morocco’s reputation as a premier destination. We’re committed to sustaining this momentum.”
This upward trend aligns with a report from the Direction of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF), which recorded a 9.7% increase in the tourism sector’s added value in Q1 2025, alongside consistent growth in visitor numbers.
